We are a rookie FRC team that participated in FLL and FIRST VEX Challenge. We have quickly realized the value that FLL, VEX have in developing a successful FRC team. The experience gained during development of VEX robots, exhibiting and operating them publicly has been instrumental in the design and development of our FRC robot. Employing sound business practices has also led to a team structure that takes into consideration the many team facets, particularly in the area of team structure and team leadership. Team structure and a sound business plan pave the way for a new team to not only grow, but also to achieve the stability and sustainability in order to serve youth in pursuit of engineering skill and leadership development. Using extensive experience in the fields of engineering, team planning, and business development, we are putting in place a method to produce a learning environment based in both engineering and development of leadership skills.
The Robotics Resource Center at WPI is designed to provide support to on-campus and off-campus activities and groups for projects and competitive robotics. The RRC hosts a number of robotics events each year, provides guidance and materials for student projects, and supports the Robotics Engineering major. The staff consists of Ken Stafford, Brad Miller, and Colleen Shaver.
